This Post sheds so much light on this friggin Eyefinity :)
Ive recently got a DP->DVI Cable (didn't find much info regarding active/passive dp before that..)
got 3 monitors
1 Zalman 22"
2 x Samsung 22"
2 Monitors Currently connected with DVI
when i connect 3rd Monitor to DP->DVI , the CCC Panel shows it - but i can not duplicate - when i try to do so it requires me to "disable" one monitor
anyone knows if its even possible to do a 2 X DVI and 1 DP->DVI on the 3rd Monitor?
ill go and grab the DP->VGA but in the meanwhile would be thankful if anyone could help out
thanks!
In order to activate Eyefinity as a Group, you have to have all but one monitor disabled. Then create a group and then, select the layout of the Eyefinity group that you wish to end up with. Once you proceed from that point, you'll be able to establish the order in which the monitors produce the image.
But, I, personally, won't hold my breath on any DP->DVI adapter working well. I think there must be a reason the active adapters are so hard to come by and that would be due to so many problems keeping the signal stable.
Now, if all you're wanting to do is have three monitors active at one time [without Eyefinity group], I believe you want to select EXTEND rather than duplicate. IF that's not working, then you likely are using a PASSIVE adapter and that won't work to allow three monitors to be active at once. Only the DP->VGA adapter....or a monitor that has built-in DP input will allow it.
