A jeweled limited edition model with a lifetime warranty will be availaible in the coming weeks.

I am there. Yet the website is a little...cheapy.

Why in the world would I ever buy such a thing, I wouldn't buy that even if I had the money!

At least it's better than gold sound cards/gpus/hdds/ram that no one will ever see.

Wait... no it's not.

I'd much prefer white/black/silver/browns with maybe some light pastels to mix it up if i'm ever feeling a little weird.

Doesn't the PS3 slim already have heat problems?

I cannot see how gold plating it would help at all.

Now that Uncharted 2 has won every Game of the Year award ever it needs a gold PS3 to contain its awesomeness.

Well, I'd certainly want a lifetime warranty if I spent that much on a console. However, it depends what they mean by 'lifetime' as a couple of times I've had 'lifetime' warranties interpreted by companies as 'until it breaks'. So... yeah.

Also, for that much, I'd want a fat PS3 that could run linux and still had all the PS2 backwards compatibility hardware in it. And one of those new 1TB laptop HDDs in it, for that matter.

Actually, the fat ones don't run Linux any more.... unless you can find one whose firmware has not been updated within the past six months and you never connect it to the Internet.
