Hi!

I have a quad core 3.6 Ghz with 4 Gb Ram , 3 x Nvidia 8800 GTX running on SLi. I am running Windows Vista 32 bit version on it. My aim is to make three 24 " Dell monitors look like one big screen and so I bought the matrox DTH2G. Unfortunately, It detects my monitors, but does not receive or send any signals. I thought my matrox was faulty and tried it with 19" monitors and they work. Even though, I am running them on lower resolutions then their native. I am not sure if I am following the correct steps. Can somebody help me with this?

I am trying to build a flight simulator. I actually have a motion based chair with it. I am using MS FXS for this purpose.

Thanks,
Ram

Hello ... welcome to the forum ... 8)

Help us help you ...

Exactly what res are you tying to run on your 24" monitors?
What res worked on your 19" monitors ?
Have you applied the firmware update ? ... found here if you haven't ... http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/gxm/windows/th2go/digital/howto1/
You say it detects your monitors but does not receive or send any signals ... What detects your monitors ?

Also ... Read this thread (if you haven't) ... it may help ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14213

1) The 19" worked perfectly at native rsolution 1280 x 1024.

2)I would like the 24" to work at the maximum possible resolution.

3) My GXM console detects my monitor, but also say there is no DDC communication. I printed the screen.

4) I have the latest firm ware.

5) The LED behind the Matrox device is RED.

Hope this can give you a better understanding of my situation. Pardon me, its the first time using a forum.

Thanks
Ram

That image is showing that only one (the right monitor) is connected to the TH2GO. As a first thing I would check all the cables are connected properly

Hello ... sriraman ....

The image you posted suggests that two of your monitors aren't connected ...
Also ... you say you have the latest firmware but the screenshot you posted suggests you do not ...
It maybe that it is just the software that is not up to date.

Here is YOUR screenshot ... note the GMX software version ... 2.1.0.5 ... this is an older version.
And the GMX setup isn't detecting your graphics card.

My GMX setup ... note the GMX software version ... GMX software version ... 2.3.2.8 and it can see my Video card.

(Click these images to see them full size)

So ... there are two things you need to do in order for us to help you move forward ...

1) ...
I posted a link to the new Firmware in my first post ...
Here it is again ... please follow it .... it explains exactly what you have to do to get your Firmware (and PowerDesk) up to date ... http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/gxm/windows/th2go/digital/howto1/

2) ...
Please do this and tell me what it says ... or take another screenhot ...

Go to the nVidia Control Panel ... choose ... Help ... System Information ...
On the ... Display ... tab ... What does it say about the Graphics Card Information ?

1) Intitially I wanted to run three 30" monitors. I bought those and they wouldn't work. So came down to 24", I didn want to buy all 3 and later realise they don't work either. SO I want one to work and I will buy the rest immdiately. I still have the 30" with me and I spent loads on that.

well back to the subject..

2) My mistake, I did not change the software completely. I have changed it now. but it still gives me the same error.

3) The link below is a screen shot of my display.

Thanks,

Hmmm ...
Your screenshot looks right to me ...
Which GPU is the TH linked to ? ... the top one ... ?
What about if you try turning off SLi ... just to see what happens ?

1) The matrox is conncted to my 3rd GPU , the display properties driver
http://picasaweb.google.com/sriraman1609/MatroxGXM/photo#5236272982264651906

2) Currently I have disabled the SLI, because I can run only 1 monitor on SLI.

3) My display drivers are upto date.

As far as I'm aware ... your monitor should be connected to the top card (the first card) when in SLi (even if you don't use a TH2G) and usually the TH2G is connected to the top card too ...
Could you give that a go ...
